WHAT CAUSES LAUGH LINES?
Hyaluronic acid—a sugar found in the skin and all throughout the body—is essential for a smooth and youthful look. This substance acts as a cushion and lubricant for the joints as well as connective tissues in the body. Facial creases develop as levels of hyaluronic acid (and other beneficial molecules, like collagen) drop in the skin due to age and environmental factors.
Wrinkles form when space is created between the damaged collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. Essentially, the surface sinks instead of remaining taut and firm. The resulting lines are known as static wrinkles.
Nasolabial folds are static wrinkles that extend from each side of the nose down to the corners of the mouth. Everyone has these creases , but they become more pronounced as you get older.
Aging causes your cheekbones to become flatter, and the pull of gravity causes loose skin to sag on this area. Smoking, sun damage, and weight fluctuations can also cause nasolabial folds to become more prominent. WHAT IS REVANESSE® VERSA™?
Revanesse® Versa™ is a type of injectable facial filler that re-introduces hyaluronic acid where it is needed. The prescription filler is injected into the skin, where the added volume promptly fills in creases and gives the surface a more uniform smoothness. Versa™ is approved to be injected into the mid to deep dermis for moderate to severe wrinkles and lines, such as nasolabial folds. One of the main advantages to Versa™ is that it is believed to cause less post-injection swelling compared to other hyaluronic acid fillers.

Revanesse® Versa™ is not intended for patients who are breastfeeding or pregnant, have a history of hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation, have evidence of scars at the intended treatment sites, have acne or other inflammatory conditions like rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, or psoriasis, have an allergic history or multiple severe allergies, have an acute or chronic skin disease on or near the injection site, have an unhealed wound of the face, are taking blood thinners, or having a bleeding disorder or clotting disorder. WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE FOR REVANESSE® VERSA™?
The results from Versa™ are visible right away and long-lasting. Note, however, that fillers tend to have a shorter duration when used on areas with high facial movement, such as nasolabial folds.
All injectable treatments have some generally noticeable side effects, including redness and swelling, and Versa™ is no exception. A clinical trial showed that swelling after a Versa™ treatment measured at half of the injection-site swelling caused by another product. Any injection-related side effects should resolve on their own in a matter of hours or days. Revanesse® Versa™ should not be combined laser skin treatments, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, dermabrasion, over-the-counter wrinkle creams or prescription wrinkle products for at least four weeks prior to the appointment. These products and treatments can increase the risk of inflammation and infection at the injection site. Eventually, Revanesse® Versa™, like other facial fillers, is dissolved in the body.
