CHIN BOTOX®
RELAX CHIN MUSCLES TO REDUCED IMPLING FOR NEWTON AND THE BOSTON AREA
The mentalis muscle is the only muscle that raises the lower lip and chin. It helps us to make facial expressions that show doubt or contempt. Sometimes, however, this muscle can become overactive or overly large, or it may move involuntarily, causing a dimpled appearance that can make people self-conscious. Happily, there’s an effective solution for a dimpled chin: BOTOX®. Chin BOTOX® at the Boston area’s Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics is a minimally invasive injectable botulinum toxin treatment that can reduce wrinkles on the chin and correct the dimpled appearance.
The grooves or pitted appearance associated with a dimpled chin can be seen most obviously when you’re puckering your lips and sometimes also when the face is at rest. Some people feel like this dimpled appearance makes them look older than they are.

WHAT IS CHIN BOTOX®?
BOTOX® is famous for being an injectable treatment that addresses dynamic wrinkles—particularly those on the upper third of the face, such as crow’s feet or frown lines. Since it functions as a muscle relaxer, chin BOTOX® can be a great solution for textural changes on the chin, such as grooves or dimples that are caused by an overactive mentalis muscle.

*Actual patient of Dr. Holly Happe. The treatment works because chin wrinkles are also dynamic wrinkles—caused by the repetitive movement of muscles. Because chin BOTOX® impacts how far targeted facial features can move up and out, the treatment also has the benefit of enhancing the overall proportions of your facial appearance, as well as the projection of your lower lip.
WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE FOR CHIN BOTOX® INVOLVE?
Chin BOTOX® is a quick and relatively pain-free procedure that involves a few injections of the neuromodulator into the cone-shaped mentalis muscle. Dr. Holly Happe is careful to ensure that chin BOTOX® is safely and properly administered so that the patient’s smile won’t be compromised. She also emphasizes patient comfort. Chin BOTOX® begins to take effect on the muscles after just a few days. The best results show around two weeks later. The results from BOTOX® for chin dimples will last for around three to four months on average.
IS BOTOX®FOR A DOUBLE CHIN POSSIBLE?
Chin BOTOX® won’t reduce a double chin, which is primarily the result of stubborn fat cells, as opposed to active muscles. Another way you can improve the appearance of your chin with BOTOX®, however, is by having jawline BOTOX® or face slimming BOTOX®. Injections to the masseter muscles can have a slimming effect on the lower face and jaw.
If you’re mainly concerned about fat between the chin and neck, Kybella® will be the better option as it dissolves fat cells to slim the area.
WHERE ELSE ON THE FACE CAN BOTOX® BE INJECTED?
Seeking “BOTOX® near me” for something else or other injection sites? Aside from chin BOTOX® , this injectable can be used for targeting many cosmetic concerns or signs of aging, such as bunny lines, moderate to severe forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, smile lines or crow’s feet, fine lines above the lips, a square jaw, drooping eyebrows (achieving a modest brow lift), hooded eyelids (a nonsurgical “eye lift”), a gummy smile, pronounced neck bands (a Nefertiti lift), the outer sides of the nostrils, under-eye wrinkles, and downturned corners of the mouth. Trapezius BOTOX® can shape the neck and shoulders for a more youthfully relaxed look.
Instead of strictly addressing changes that have already happened in the skin, many of these options can be used as a preventative treatment that delays facial lines from forming or deepening in the first place. BOTOX® for migraines can also be injected into various parts of the face, neck, and head to relieve the discomfort and pain associated with the chronic headache-like disorder. Jaw clenching can also be relieved in a similar way, and injections can also reduce sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the underarms and even the feet.
WHICH AESTHETIC TREATMENTS ARE AVAILABLE ASIDE FROM CHIN BOTOX®?
Chin BOTOX® and other neuromodulator treatments—including Daxxify™, Dysport® and Xeomin®—are designed to target wrinkles and other forms of asymmetry associated with underlying muscles. However, for wrinkles that are associated with age-related volume loss or other causes, such as sun damage, Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics provides injectable hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm® and biostimulatory injections such as Sculptra® to restore a plumper appearance to the skin.
Hyaluronic acid facial fillers can also improve the contours of the face by adding volume to areas such as the cheeks, lips, and chin. For patients who want to address other types of skin conditions such as pigmentation irregularities or uneven texture, skin rejuvenation treatments such as chemical peels and microneedling are recommended.
Chin BOTOX® with the Boston area's Dr. Holly Happe can address dimples or orange peel chin for a smoother look. Contact Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics by calling (617) 597-2600 or fill out a contact form to request a consultation.
